The Sterling
Woods Homeowner’s Association annual meeting is scheduled for
Wednesday May 31st, 2006 at 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The
meeting will at Blackwell Elementary in the library. A
preliminary agenda will include:
We look forward to
seeing all of you as it is very important that we have a quorum at
this meeting. You have been emailed a proxy document for you to use in the
event you are unable to attend. Please fill out this proxy and
provide it to another homeowner. Also, please reach out to any new
neighbors and let them know of this meeting.
There will be a
community “Town Forum” meeting on 9/12
at 7:00PM at Blackwell Elementary School to discuss the recent
school, homes and Timberline property vandalism. See below
article on area vandalism. The Sammamish City Manager as well
as chief of police will attend. Organized by the
Timberline Ridge HOA board and
community, the
agenda will consist of an update of the incident investigation
by the city officials as well as Q&A and will last approximately
1 hour. This is an opportunity to support your neighbors as
well as our Blackwell Elementary School.
In the early
morning hours of 8/26 and
8/27
Timberline area homes and property as well as Blackwell
Elementary School were hit with a number of acts of spray
paint vandalism and other destruction. The damage was
extensive and includes homes, monuments as well as school.
The Sammamish police are investigating and have recovered at
least one of the cans of spray paint as evidence. While
Sterlingwoods has not been affected by this incident,
unfortunately we are not immune. This summer several of our
monument lights have been damaged and are in the process of
being replaced.
Sammamish
police
indicated that these types of acts of vandalism peak in the
weeks before school starts and that now is the time to keep
an extra eye open for any unusual activity in the late
evening or early morning. Additionally, they indicate that
the best action is to call them as opposed to confronting
anyone. There are two numbers that you can call:
Emergency
and in-progress 9-1-1 and Non-emergency dispatch (206)
296-3311.
On 6/30/2005, the HOA passed a motion to adopt a secured mailbox
system. LockBox of Mercer Island was the selected vendor.
Lockbox is the same vendor that upgraded the Timberline Ridge community
with a similar system. Lockbox will be coming to our SW neighborhood
to begin installation on or around 9/19/2005 and will have all of
the structures upgraded by 9/22/2005. Please check this site
for the latest schedule.
Q: How does the transition work?
Assuming you have fully paid the mailbox assessment, the vendor
will place your old postal box near your front door. Inside
your former box, will be that day’s mail and a duplicate set of
keys to access your new box.
Q: How
do I pay my assessment?
Please make checks payable to: Sterling Woods Homeowner’s Association
for the amount of $90.00
Mailing address:
Sterling Woods Homeowner’s Association
704 228th Ave. NE #447
Sammamish, WA 98074-7222
Q: When is the assessment due?
September 1, 2005
Q: We
are going to be on vacation during the planned timeframe?
Assuming you stopped your USPS mail, you will still get your old
box by your front door and your set of keys for the new box. Please
contact Albert Jee at
Albert Jee (aljee@hotmail.com)
20508 NE 21st CT
425-836-2113
or a Board Member for
any additional special handling; we will do our best to accommodate.
Q: Where
can we get an extra set of keys made our new box?
Any hardware store or home improvement building center can make
these keys. The closest to our neighborhood would be Sammamish Ace
Hardware (425-868-2203), near Safeway and adjacent to Sammamish
City Hall.
Q: We
lost our keys and forget to make a duplicate?
Contact Lockbox, Mr. David Cristalli, 206-232-4814, and they will
come out and replace your existing lock with a brand new one and
provide you with a new set of keys. They do not have any existing
master keys to open your box. Another option would be to contact
your favorite locksmith, and have him perform this task. However,
it’s unlikely he has the same brand of lock to replace it with.
Q: The
outgoing mailslot is too restrictive for my outgoing package?
Unofficially, leave the package inside your incoming box, and place
a sticky note, “Outgoing”, so the mail carrier can handle the package
accordingly.
Q: I haven’t paid the assessment, we just gotten back from an
extended trip?
You will get your old box and any existing mail from that day, but
no “keys” for your box until you have paid your assessment.
Q: I have additional questions, who can I contact?
Your SW neighbor, Albert Jee, 20508 NE 21st CT (aljee@hotmail.com)
425-836-2113, is the Project Mgr. for this community project or
feel free to contact any of the SW HOA Board Members
